“Loss and the Lilypad,” was an art show & grief ritual, a funeral for a home, that I hosted late August 2024. I invited several friends to install their artwork throughout the Lily Pad, celebrating my soon-to-be demolished home in Manila CA. On the side porch and entry, Rachel K. Bury displayed paintings & ceramics. In the studio, a mixed media installation from Courtney Cross & collages by Kristen Whalen. Richelle Porter’s, “North Star,” installation was installed on the back fence. The photos featured below were taken by Firefly Mizera, who lovingly documented the event. It was a beautiful celebration of endings and transformations. Warm, heavy, and light, all at the same time. After her last hurrah, I officially moved out, and The Lily Pad was demolished early in September.
